On Amazon.com, I can buy Regina Spektor’s album Far as a series of MP3 files for $5.99. It has 13 songs. Or I can buy the Deluxe edition for $12.99. It has 15 songs—the 13 of the regular album, plus two others. The additional two songs can each be downloaded for $0.99. So $5.99 + 2 x $0.99, uh, $7.97.

2009 was an interesting year for me as a music fan. My favorite genre of Electronica was not as popular as the previous year and as a result indie music slowly but surely began infiltrating my iPod.
